Respite, Weekends

Respitality Weekends for Parents is a combination of respite and hospitality. The respite program provides parents of disabled children or adult family member with a Friday or Saturday night stay in a hotel, including dinner and breakfast for two. This respite care takes them away from the stress of caring for a child with a disability. This program is made possible by the generosity of the hotels, motels, restaurants who donate their services.

Ability Center of Virginia provides a $50 stipend to families to help pay for the caregiver of their choice to come to the family home to care for the disabled family member. Private foundations also fund the program.
