The mission of the Weight-control Information Network (WIN) is to produce and disseminate up to date, science-based materials on weight control, obesity, physical activity and related nutritional issues.

WIN Notes, a quarterly newsletter for health professionals, features the latest information from NIDDK and other organizations on obesity, weight control, and weight-related nutritional disorders. WIN Notes also lists resources available from other organizations and reports on the National Task Force on Prevention and Treatment of Obesity activities.
WIN is a national service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), part of the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). NIDDK is the Federal Government's lead agency for biomedical research on nutrition and obesity. Authorized by Congress (Public Law 103-43), WIN provides the general public, health professionals, the media, and Congress with up-to-date, science-based health information on weight control, obesity, physical activity and related nutritional issues.
