Making Headway, Brain Injury Association of Virginia

Annual Conference, Making Headway, will be on March 3, 2018 at Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa in Short Pump, Virginia. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. The objectives of this annual conference are to: provide a venue for the exchange of information about brain injury programs, resources, treatment and therapies; Create
a positive learning environment through discussions, case studies, lectures, and exhibits.
Our keynote speakers for our annual conference are Kara Stanley and Simon Paradis. In 2015 Kara published Fallen: A Trauma, a Marriage, and the Transformative Power of Music, a compelling account of the life-changing brain and spinal cord injury her husband, Simon, sustained in 2008. Simon was a musician at the time of his accident and he has now returned to playing live both as a solo act and in the duo Stanton Paradis. Join us for this journey where Kara will share some excerpts from her book and Simon will perform a few songs pivotal to the unfolding of their story.
