Who We Are
Henry County Department of Parks and Recreation provides a variety of recreational, athletic and lifetime activities for all citizens of Henry County. There are 25 park facilities available to the public to enjoy; recreational programs for children, adults, families and seniors. Contact the office at 276-634-4640 for information on any of the programs. The Parks and Facilities Guide can also be viewed or downloaded from the website.
Parks in Henry County are Jack E. Dalton Park, Jordan Creek Park, Collinsville Jaycee Park, Fisher Farm Park, Fieldale Park, Doe Run Park and Gravely Nature Preserve. Smith River Trails offers several canoe accesses and maps are available on the website indicating the canoe access points. The Dick and Willie Passage Rail Trail provides hiking, walking and biking trails.
The current sport registration form may be printed from the website. A variety of athletic leagues are being offered including boys baseball, girls softball, boys and girls basketball, flag football, tackle football Junior and Senior leagues, adult basketball and adult flag football.
Adult Soccer, chess club, mountain bike club, adult dodgeball, scrapbooking classes, adult co-ed kickball, fishing clinic, tennis lessons plus a variety of other activities are offered for adults.
