Southampton Recreation Association was established in 1950 as a non-stock, non-profit corporation with a charter that described the organization's purpose to "establish and maintain for recreation, education, and training of all the members."

A full range of recreational and socialization programs are offered, including 2 pools and a toddler pool, tennis courts, swim lessons, family night, movie night, pizza night, adults-only nights, ice cream party, game and poker night, hockey, and ice skating.
