Who We Are
The Blacksburg Department of Parks and Recreation offers recreation programs and opportunities for all ages. Assists organizations with their recreation needs. Houses the Blacksburg Aquatic Center which hosts water safety training throughout the year.
Call the Aquatic Center at (540) 443-1120; call The Community Center at (540) 443-1140; call the Parks and Rec Office at (540) 443-1100 for athletic program registration.
Shelter rental fees at parks are non-refundable. If it rains on the day of the reservation, a household credit with the Parks and Recreation Department for the full reservation amount may be requested by calling the administrative office at (540) 443-1100.
There are 20 parks in the Blacksburg area, including a Dog Park at 2100 Toms Creek Road. The parks have a variety of amenities. Some have playgrounds, sports fields, natural areas, greenways, and more. The greenway system offers miles of walking and biking trails.
The Municipal golf course opens in May. Online tee times are available or you can call the pro shop at (540) 961-1137.
