Parks and Recreation

The Pulaski Town Parks and Facilities Department manages over 800 acres of parkland, a senior center and several recreational facilities including the following:

• Calfee Park -- This unique ballpark was built in 1935 by the WPA work force, and named after the Town of Pulaski Mayor of the time, Ernest W. Calfee, and featured and pictured in Sports Illustrated, National Geographic, Life and Virginia Living magazines.  Calfee Park is owned and operated by the Town of Pulaski. Minor league baseball is made possible by Pulaski Baseball, Inc. Calfee Park is located at 42 1st Street NW.  For more information on the park, call 540-994-8624.

• Gatewood Park -- A 400 acre scenic park providing rest and relaxation through camping, boating, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. With 22 miles of shoreline and water depths ranging up to 50 feet, Gatewood is ideal for the growth of large size mouth bass, along with a good number of crappie, catfish, blue gill, muskie and small mouth bass.  Gatewood Park is located at 27 State Street.  Call 540-980-2561 for information.

• Heritage Park -- Offers a covered shelter with picnic tables, gazebo, park area and parking facilities.  Electricity is available and water is available upon request.  Park may be reserved.  For more information, call 540-994-8696.  Heritage Park is located on Dora Highway.

• Loving Field -- Located just outside the northern Town limits, the Loving Field Sports Complex is home to a number of youth sporting activities as well as the home of the New River Valley Flying Aces, a model airplane club.
