Substance Use Services

Associates at York, Inc. offers the following substance use counseling services:

• The Substance Abuse Education and Chemical Dependency Programs provide a broader level of knowledge and understanding of the overall harmful effects of addictive substance use on both physical and psychological levels. It focuses on accepting responsibility, changing lifestyles, behavior, and returning stability in the client's life. Prior to placement in a group, each individual is assessed for their specific treatment needs. Participants are required to remain abstinent from alcohol and drugs while attending and are required to enter a 12 Step Recovery program of their choice.
• Individual and Family Therapy are available for individuals and family members who desire to address a substance-related problem while exploring issues and the impact on their own lives of their family in a more private setting.
• The Substance Abuse Education Group provides individuals who are currently abusing drugs with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the effects of their use. Particular focus is on long-term psychology, physical effects, behaviors and consequences. 
• The Chemical Dependency Group serves individuals who have been assessed as needing group therapy for alcohol and drug abuse or dependency. The focus is on recognizing addictive thought and patterns, relapse prevention, triggers and the 12 Step Recovery principles.
