Who We Are

Suffolk Department of Parks & Recreation offers a variety of services for the entire community. Programs and classes are geared toward youth, adults and senior citizens. Indoor and outdoor recreation is offered to males and females of all ages.

There are youth and adult athletic programs and special exercise classes for seniors. The agency holds classes in such activities as "Tumbletots" and luncheons for seniors and special events such as art shows. Also maintains parks, tennis courts, baseball fields and the like.

Lone Star Lakes, 1100 acre fishing compound with seasonal and day permits, is also available. Boating, picnicking, horseback riding, and hiking are also available for a fee. Engages in planning/acquisition of recreational use lands and provides recreational programs/activities for the entire community.
