Who We Are
Access Independence (AI), a nonprofit Center for Independence, identifies resources, services and service providers in public, private and community organizations for individuals with disabilities. Information is provided on accessibility, housing, recreation, transportation and other organizations dealing with disability issues. Registries are maintained that include local options for accessible and affordable housing, personal assistants and interpreters. An collection of resource material on disability related issues and services is available to the general public. Access Independence also provides technical assistance, peer counseling, advocacy, referrals and limited transportation services.
