The Academy focuses on patient safety, scope of practice, Medicare reform, research and other issues pertaining to the practice of dermatology. Advocacy services are (1) promote and advance the science and art of medicine and surgery related to the skin; (2) promote the highest possible standards in clinical practice, education and research in dermatology and related disciplines; and (3) support and enhance patient care and promote the public interest relating to dermatology.
