Who We Are
Herndon Parks and Recreation Department strives to foster a sense of community by providing diverse, accessible and valued parks, facilities and recreation programs. Parks and Recreation of Herndon, Virginia offers a comprehensive leisure program and encompasses a multi-purpose room, gymnasium, three racquetball courts, a meeting room and kitchen, arts and crafts room, game room, and preschool room. The aquatics facility includes an eight-lane, 25-meter indoor swimming pool, diving and instructional areas, whirlpool, sauna, shower, and lockers. The indoor tennis center operates October through April and includes three tennis courts for reserved play time, leagues, lessons, and other activities. The department also sponsors many popular special events -- the Herndon Festival, Summer Concert Series, Labor Day Jazz Festival, Folk Fest --- and oversees the operation of nine neighborhood parks.
