Case Management, Intellectual Disabilities, Goochland

The Goochland-Powhatan Community Services case management unit provides a wide variety of services to individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities. Some of the services include:

• Ongoing monitoring for symptoms, medication compliance, and effectiveness;
• Supportive counseling;
• Collaboration with other agency programs, such as psychiatric services, nursing services, outpatient therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, say support, and intellectual disability in-home support programs.

The level of case management support a person receives is based upon his/her needs. Medicaid and the intellectual disabilities waiver pay for case management services if certain eligibility criteria are met. Private insurance does not pay for case management, however, services are provided regardless of insurance or income on a sliding fee scale.
