Who We Are

Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) offers Community Residential and Contractual Services. The program provides:

  • Directly-operated and contracted congregate and residential support services for persons with intellectual disability.
  • Contractual long-term care residential services for persons with intellectual disability and/or serious mental illness.

Services for people with intellectual disabilities include:

  • Group homes;
  • Supervised apartments;
  • Drop-in sponsored living;
  • Respite care;
  • Assisted living for persons with serious mental illness;
  • Individual long-term community-based residential placements.

Most of these residential services are provided through the Community Services Board's (CSB) partnerships with approved private providers under contract management oversight provided by the Board.

In Virginia, Community Services Boards are the “local public entities” to provide support coordination for individuals admitted to or discharged from state training centers and for persons diagnosed with an intellectual disability who receive community-based services. The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Service Boards and other Boards in Virginia have an important role in implementing the settlement agreement between the Commonwealth of Virginia and the United States Department of Justice regarding rights of individuals with disabilities to receive services in their communities.
