Who We Are

University of Virginia’s Health System has a Neuromuscular Disorders division that provides specialized consultation and treatment for patients with diseases of the peripheral nervous system, neuromuscular junction, and muscle. These diseases include:

  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • Lamber-Eaton myasthenic syndrome
  • Myopathies
  • And other motor neuron diseases

The ALS Clinic is for persons with ALS and their families. The goal is to provide the best possible diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and support to supplement the care that patients receive from their local neurologists and family physicians. The clinics hours are held the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month.
