Referred to as DARS, this state agency provides services to help Virginians with disabilities become more independent and self-sufficient. Services are focused in employment, community based services, assistive technology/devices and equipment.
DARS developed the State Plan for Aging Services in collaboration with older Virginians and caregivers as well as the state's aging network, state agencies, Virginia universities, and stakeholder organizations.
No Wrong Door is a virtual single point of entry for accessing public and private health and human supports for older adults and adults with disabilities in Virginia. No Wrong Door is both the philosophy that drives the initiative and the name that Virginia has given to the Federal initiative called Aging and Disability Resource Connections (ADRC).
