Who We Are
The Salvation Army, Roanoke, provides disaster preparedness education.
Hurricane Safety Tips from the Salvation Army:
- Listen to local radio or television news and weather stations for information.
- Prepare to board up windows. Install ore-made shutter panels.
- Assemble a Disaster Supply Kit.
- Recheck manufactured home tie-downs.
- Keep a list of emergency phone numbers handy.
- Make sure vehicles have plenty of gasoline.
- Identify places to go if told to evacuate.
- Mark a road map with two alternative routes.
- If told to evacuate, do so immediately.
