Who We Are
Hanover County Community Services Board provides day support services that are individualized community integration and life skills training for persons with intellectual, developmental or physical disabilities.
Services provided include:
- assessment of the individual's skills, abilities and needs,
- individualized program development and implementation,
- individual training for improved skill building and increased independence,
- social interaction,
- community integration.
The program provides training in adult daily living and uses recreational opportunities. Activities provide opportunities to build basic skills for employment and independent living such as carrying out tasks, becoming a member of a group, communicating with peers and others and using community resources.

Intake Process
Call for information. The Washington Highway office in Ashland has walk-in intake hours on Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM, except on County holidays. An intake form is available on the website if applicants choose to complete it prior to their visit. To expedite the intake process for developmental disability services, individuals will need a psychological evaluation. If one has been completed, individuals should bring a copy. If not, staff will provide referral information for other providers that can complete this evaluation.
