Who We Are
Nelson County Department of Social Services offers General Relief (GR) program. The GR program is an optional local program. Components may include assistance for medical or dental services, burial expenses, etc. Each local agency determines the criteria for the use of local-only funds.
Maintains a small fund for financial emergencies for needy individuals. Service subject to availability of funds. Currently only providing burial assistance.
