Who We Are

Mountain Lynx Transit provides public transportation for residents and visitors within the town of Abingdon limits. Service is provided Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. All transit vehicles are wheelchair accessible. The loop bus operates hourly along a flexible-fixed route. You may board the bus anywhere along the route. The route schedule and stops are available on the website.

Drivers have the flexibility to deviate a few blocks off the general route of travel for a drop-off or pick-up. Request-based service is available for areas within the town limits that lay outside the loop deviation zone. Call to schedule a pick up off of the general route.

Hours are dispatch telephone hours. Transit service operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Intake Process
Call the reservation line by 4:00 pm on the last business day before the trip. Be ready to provide the customer's name, telephone number, exact address of your pick-up point, and destination. Request assistance is needed beyond standard curb-to-curb service. Customers will be given a pick-up time with a 30-minute window. Please be ready and waiting. The bus may arrive 15 minutes prior to or after the pick-up time. The bus driver cannot wait longer than five (5) minutes. During deviated fixed loop service passengers may catch the bus at a designated stop without making reservations.
