Mountain Lynx Transit is available for any rider requesting transportation within the city limits of Galax. Call to schedule a trip or simply board at any published stop. This service links outer areas within the city limits with the loop buses. The loops buses operate hourly along a deviated (flexible) route. Drivers follow the route, in general, but may deviate a few blocks for pick-ups or drop-offs. The route schedule and stops are available on the website.

Loop transit service is provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. On Saturdays, the loops alternate. The Red Loop runs at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm; the Blue Loop at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. and on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Request-based service is available Monday through Friday and on a limited, advance reservation-only basis on Saturdays.
Intake Process
Call Monday through Friday, 8 am until 4 pm to schedule a trip or simply board at any published stop. Provide the rider's name, pick-up point, destination, and if special assistance is needed. Reservations are taken on a first-call basis. Call 24 hours in advance as the best way to secure service at your preferred time. Also, call to cancel a scheduled pick-up.
