Who We Are
Chimes Virginia provides multiple day support and volunteer options to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Northern Virginia. Day supports are provided in both the Fairfax County facility and at various sites in the community. The program emphasizes enrichment activities, skill acquisition, and full community participation.
Program participants have the opportunity to volunteer with organizations such as Meals on Wheels, World Hope International, Shelter House, Four Hope’s Treasures and more. Each volunteer experience is geared to teaching the program participant specific job skills, work ethics and interpersonal skills. In giving back to the community, participants also gain a sense of pride and confidence, while developing meaningful relationships and engaging in new experiences.
The program offers support for individuals who have a co-occurring diagnosis or are behaviorally challenged. Individuals with visual or hearing impairment, who are non-ambulatory or are limited in mobility may also participate. Services are also provided for individuals with brain injuries or autism spectrum disorders.
