Who We Are

The purpose of Virginia Guardianship Association (VGA) is to further guardianship services and alternatives to guardianship services to vulnerable adults in the Commonwealth. The organization promotes public and professional education regarding guardianship and alternatives. It develops a network for the exchange of information and referral efforts so that individuals in need of protection (elderly, individual with mental illness or developmental disability) are provided appropriate and adequate services.



Advocacy: for public policy that promotes the highest possible quality of guardianship services and other less restrictive alternatives. Membership enables VGA to continue developing a strong, viable organization that is a unique resource for guardians and others interested in the issues of guardianship and other protective services.
