Who We Are
Westmoreland County, in partnership with the Westmoreland Family YMCA, provides a wide range of recreational programs for all ages: Toddlers. Adults. Seniors. Teens. Singles. Families. Trained and certified staff provide licensed childcare, conduct health and wellness programs, coordinate family activities, and coach individual and team sports. School-age day care services are located at the County’s public schools. The full gymnasium provides basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and special events. A small auditorium, kitchen, meeting room and patio are also available.
Westmoreland County also maintains three parks:
- Hurt Field at Legion Park, Route 3, west of Montross, Four-acre public park on scenic Chandlers Mill Pond. Lighted baseball field with bleachers and bullpens, and picnic area, 3 sets of horseshoe pits, public boat landing and concession building.
- Hamblin Field, Route 205 between Oak Grove and Colonial Beach, Eight-acre public park with sports field and bleachers.
- Currioman Public Boat Landing, Off Route 622, Owned and operated by Westmoreland County. Public boat ramp and pier near the Potomac River offers water access to all county citizens.
County facilities are available to rent for meetings and events.
