Flunanna County Habitat for Humanity advocates for affordable housing and accepts donations of time, money, materials and land.
Money comes through donations of cash or stocks/bonds, legacies or wills, participation via the Combined Virginia Campaign, donation of services--legal, accounting, printing/copying, construction, site clearance, landscaping, block work, roofing, drywall, etc.
Materials are referred to the Charlottesville Habitat Store that can accept surplus building materials and appliances for storage and resale, the funds going to support Habitat activities. Habitat may accept donations of tools and building equipment to meet our requirements.
Land, although donations of land would be gratefully received, Habitat can buy land if suitable and the price is right. If you have land, or know someone who has building land available, please leave a message at 434-589-3752 or e-mail us at fluvannahabitat@live.com.
Time to help with making phone calls to volunteers for specific projects, stuffing envelopes, acknowledging donations, providing lunches for site workers, committee work, construction work, site clearance, landscaping and painting.
Everybody is welcome at our monthly meeting, the first Thursday of every month. Meetings take place at Lake Christian Church on South Boston Road, 7:00pm.
