Who We Are
Legal Advocate Program - Although not a lawyer, staff assists clients in obtaining protective orders and provides the most up-to-date information on domestic violence and sexual assault laws. The Legal Advocate works closely with Victim/Witness personnel to make sure that survivors are given all appropriate legal resources. Court accompaniment is available should a survivor desire the service. Services are free of charge.
This program provides the following services:
- Safety planning, support and comprehensive legal advocacy
- Connects domestic violence victims with local legal clinics
- Provides critical legal information and assistance
- Accompanies domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault victims to court proceedings
- Provides concentrated outreach to domestic violence and sexual assault victims
