A Hand up to Self-Sufficiency

Powhatan County Department of Social Services provides a program  “A Hand up to self-sufficiency” for emergency crisis assistance. The crisis assistance one-time annual grant payments are made for rental, mortgage, or utility assistance, and other services necessary to prevent homeless, loss of employment, hunger, or suffering.  Information and referral services are also available through this office for those seeking employment.
