Autism Society, Tidewater Virginia, was established to help improve the lives of all affected by autism. Advocacy is done by increasing public awareness, advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the lifespan and providing the latest information on treatment, education, research and advocacy.
Community Awareness Projects are throughout the year. Some of the projects are staff luncheons, fundraisers to educate the public and more.
Resource Center includes lending library, two computer stations with internet access, color printer and specialized software to make and take materials to support loved ones living with ASD within the community. Also at the Center is a flat screen television to host "Family to Family" workshops.
Autism Society, Tidewater is a local chapter of The Autism Society.
