Who We Are
The aim of the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program (HPRP) is to prevent people who are close to facing homelessness from reaching the streets or to quickly re-house those who are already homeless. Bridges to Independence (Bridges) provides rental assistance and housing placement services for families.
Clients meet with the HPRP Case Manager at Bridges. The staff helps former clients stay independent through a homeless prevention program that includes employment counseling and limited rental assistance. Bridges provides a connection to additional resources for the families for financial, legal, mental health, and medical.
Clients are immersed in a comprehensive and individualized program designed to enable them to overcome the conditions that led to their homelessness. Each person receives intensive counseling. The program focuses on family financial planning, budgeting, employment training, life-skills training in parenting, self-esteem and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
