Who We Are
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society for Greater DC and Maryland is working toward a world free of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Research, tips, and treating MS are always on the website for patients and caregivers to look through.
Periodically Wellness Classes are offered to individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and to their families. Educational events are also offered. It is suggested that an individual check with his or her physician before participating in any exercise program. Limited financial assistance is available to pay for wellness classes. To apply for financial assistance, call 202-296-5363, option 1. Please call for a referral list of classes and instructors.
Multiple Sclerosis Society does not offer a durable medical equipment loan closet program but can help individuals find equipment such as walkers, grab bars, manual wheelchairs, or bathroom safety items. If funds are available, financial assistance may be available to eligible individuals to help with home repair, ramps, vehicle and house modifications, purchase equipment, and transportation.
No counseling service is offered; however, Client Services can help find counseling.
Visit their website or contact the local chapter to see what fundraising events are going on throughout DC and Northern Virginia, what groups and discussions are happening, and up-to-date information.
