Guardianship and Trusts

The Arc of Northern Virginia is a state-designated Guardian of Last Resort (GOLR) Project for Northern Virginia. The program serves individuals who require a surrogate decision-maker, but have no other appropriate individuals in their lives or resources to serve in this capacity. Regardless of our role, clients are encouraged to participate in their own decision-making to the greatest extent possible.

Special Needs Trusts may also be set up through The Arc of Northern Virginia for individuals with disabilities. The trust may be either a self-funded trust set by the disabled individual, or family-funded trust set by the family for the disabled individual. Key Private Bank is the Trustee.
