The Virginia Assistive Technology System (VATS) is a statewide program authorized and funded by the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended (AT Act of 2004).  VATS services are free and available to Virginians with disabilities, their family members, and any service provider who works with individuals with disabilities.  By contacting the statewide toll-free number (800) 435-8490 or visiting www.vats.org, Virginians can access an array of AT services to make informed decisions and acquire appropriate and affordable AT.  VATS can provide individuals with specific information on assistive technology products, funding options, and resources.

ATS is a statewide system change project to ensure that Virginians of all ages and abilities can acquire the appropriate, affordable assistive and information technologies and services they need to participate in society as active citizens.​
