Who We Are

The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Commission (formerly Committee for Persons With Disabilities) provides an advocate for Portsmouth residents who are disabled and in need of services that are not readily available (legal, rent disputes, and medicine pick-up). Members are appointed by the Mayor or City Council.

South Hampton Roads Disability Services Board (Regional).  The purpose of this Board is to provide input to state agencies on service needs and priorities of persons with physical and sensory disabilities.  The Board meets on call at various dates, times and places.
