Arlington County Commission on the Status of Women is a community resource and advocate for women seeking to continuously advance and inform women in Arlington County on legal and human rights, economic equality, equal employment, and state legislation. Serves as a liaison to help the County address these issues. Provides public forums, reports to the County Board and speakers. Works cooperatively with the County and local women's organizations.
The Commission focuses on the following issues:
- Violence against women
- Women's health and access to health care
- Economic opportunities for women
- Housing and transportation
- Awareness and prevention of gender discrimination
- Caregiving
- Education
Meetings are open to the public: 7:00 PM, on the second Thursday of the month in the Azalea Conference room at the Arlington County Government Main Office, Building, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard.
