Burial Assistance

Norfolk Department of Human Services offers cash assistance for burial or cremation expenses for indigent residents of Norfolk.  Based on the qualifications of the deceased, a family member, friend or representative of a deceased citizen may receive a vendor payment paid directly to participating Funeral Homes to assist with final burial expenses. 

The agency will assist with the cost of funeral expense for Norfolk residents who were placed in nursing. Homes in other localities or are incarcerated in other localities within the state.
