Who We Are

ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia provides basic training in the areas of attendant management, transportation, self-advocacy, career development, and other areas of independent living. Serves all disability groups. ECNV works with its consumers, and their families, to end dependence by fostering self-reliance, self-determination and adaptive skills

ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia, Inc. (ECNV) participants may direct their peer counselor to assist them on an individual basis to develop independent living skills in any area they select. ECNV has a modified kitchen and bathroom to assist in learning new technologies and assistive software on computers.

Centers for Independent Living, often referred to as "CILs" are non-residential places of action and coalition, where persons with disabilities learn empowerment and develop the skills necessary to make lifestyle choices. Centers provide services and advocacy to promote the leadership, independence, and productivity of people with disabilities. Centers work with both individuals as well as with the local communities to remove barriers to independence and ensuring equality of persons with disabilities.

Individual staff members have varying competency in sign and other languages. Call ahead.
