Who We Are

Radio Reading Service. In a unique partnership with WVTF Public Radio, New Vision provides, at no charge to eligible clients, special radios tuned to WVTF’s Radio Reading Service sub-frequency. Broadcasting on a set schedule, the Radio Reading Service provides recordings of both local and national publications as well as other programs of interest. These programs work with volunteers.

Accessibility: Fully handicapped accessible.

New Vision (formerly Voice of the Blue Ridge) has a small library of audio books which we lend out just as a library would do. The titles are mostly fiction at this point, although we continue to accept donations in all literary forms. One book in Braille at present. Usually program is accessed by telephone. Eligible parties call for books and books are mailed from the office.

Office hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Service hours: Varies according to program.
