Who We Are
Advocates at the local, state and federal level to increase the rights of people with disabilities. Offers workshops and forums, speakers and consultation to businesses, individuals and groups on disability-related issues. Assists persons with disabilities to access benefits. Provides disability-related advocacy-both individual and systemic.
Staff will assist individuals with disabilities to understand and exercise their civil rights regarding government and other service providers. Staff will intervene with governmental entities, individuals, organizations, and agencies to ensure the maximum inclusion of persons with disabilities in community life. Advocacy services consist of workshops and forums or one-on-one training for consumers to learn their rights; workshops and forums for businesses and other organizations on government regulations, disability awareness, and other related topics. Advocacy for accessible facilities, services, and opportunities; and group advocacy to improve legislation and disability service systems.
