Community-based Summer Programs for Persons with Disabilities

Fairfax County Therapeutic Recreation Services offers over 35 different programs for children and adults with disabilities. Programs are designed to encourage appropriate social and behavioral interactions in a recreation environment. Program components include small group activities, clubs and age appropriate activities. The programs also provide respite for caregivers. Weekend, weekday and summer programs are offered.



Specific adaptive recreation programs are available in art, music, pet and dance. A quarterly schedule of programs, classes, tours and camps is prepared and available.



These programs are provided at a variety of sites around the county. Opportunity to make new friends, have fun with old friends, participate in general sports, wheelchair sports, beep ball, bowling, camps, classes and more. Call or visit the website for more information.
