Resources for Independent Living offers advocacy assistance for individuals with disabilities. Advocacy educates both the individual and the community about the rights of persons with disabilities to participate in all activities within the community. Staff help consumers learn their rights and options in the following areas:
- transportation,
- housing,
- employment,
- education,
- financial assistance
- accessibility.
Disability advocacy is one of the five core programs of a center for independent living in Virginia.
