Who We Are

The Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation's Therapeutic Recreation offers leisure and recreational activities to help individuals with intellectual, physical, emotional and/or developmental disabilities develop and refresh their mind and bodies in ways that enhance their health, independence and well-being. A brochure and additional information about each program offered can be obtained by calling the office or visiting the website.

Craft classes, indoor recreation, outdoor sports skills, bingo and walking programs for adults with disabilities are offered on different mornings throughout the winter, spring and fall.  Visit the website to find the current listing of programs for adults with disabilities.

All individuals with disabilities can participate in any course listed in the department brochure.  To ensure an individual's success in a program, staff known as Inclusion Coaches will be available to provide assistance.  Inclusion services are offered year-round for people with disabilities and summer camps provide a variety of opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities.
