Who We Are
Rockbridge Area Relief Association (RARA) provides aid in the form of food, past due payment of electricity, water, gas, oil and/or heat bills, internet fees, help with rent or rent deposit and essential transportation. RARA does not help with the purchase of clothing, prescriptions, medications or phone bills.
Assistance to recipients is expected to a one-time occurrence. Also operates food pantry which can be visited monthly by those in need. Need is determined by income and other situations such as sickness or loss of employment.
RARA does not cover assistance for the purchase of clothing, over-the-counter medications or phone bills. Money is not paid directly to a client.
Each application is reviewed on a case by case basis.
RARA may also refer individuals to other help agencies.
