Committee for Persons with Disabilities

The Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities is an advisor to the Mayor whose mission is to raise the awareness of the needs of persons with disabilities.  The Committee works to increase awareness of disability issues and resources; develop laws and ordinances affecting citizens with disabilities; assuring that all facilities and programs are totally accessible to citizens with disabilities; promoting more employment opportunities for citizens with disabilities; acquiring an accessible public transportation system and promoting opportunities for economic independence for citizens with disabilities.

Meetings of the Committee are open to the public and are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.  Call the office for specific dates and locations.
