Housing Counseling

The Housing Counseling program is designed to assist first-time home buyers with purchasing a home and to help present homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure.



Our program offers many primary services, including:

•     First Time Homebuyers Education Workshop
•     Pre-purchase Counseling
•     Mortgage Default Counseling
•     Refinancing Assistance
•     Homebuyers Club

For clients who want to become first-time homeowners, we provide assistance through our First Time Homebuyers Education Workshop. This class takes clients step-by-step through the home buying process. Our Pre-purchase Counseling is designed to help renters become homeowners by assisting clients with the pre-purchase process. We also have a Homebuyers Club for clients who need long-term assistance before they can purchase a home due to barriers such as overcoming credit issues, establishing savings accounts and overcoming income barriers.



Another service, Default Counseling Assistance, helps homeowners who have delinquent mortgage payments or are facing foreclosures (mitigation). Our counselor acts as a mediator between clients and the mortgage companies to get the lenders to modify loans, whether it be in the form of lower interest rates, taking the delinquent payments and putting them on the back-end of the loans or helping clients to receive new repayment plans.
