Who We Are

Virginia Beach Community Services Board's Mental Health Support Services (MHSS) serves individuals with a diagnosis of intellectual disability and serious behavioral health disorder (SMI) who need support in major life activities. Individuals must be willing to work with staff to develop an Individual Service Plan (ISP). Services may include training or reinforcement of skills and appropriate behavior related to health and safety, personal care, activities of daily living and use of community resources. Other services may include monitoring of health, nutrition and physical condition and assistance with medication management.
