Therapeutic Mentoring Services offers a strength-based support service that improves daily living, social and communication needs. This service can be used to support or assist with the transition from a more intensive level of service. Therapeutic mentoring services that coincide with each youth's individualized service plan include:
- Coaching and training youth in age‐appropriate behaviors, interpersonal and intrapersonal communication, problem-solving; relationship building and social activities;
- Promoting and facilitating connections to community-based programs and natural supports;
- Psychosocial skills development in the areas of employment skills, anger management, communication, conflict resolution, etc.;
- Transportation to and collaboration with other involved or needed services;
- Person-centered structuring of leisure and recreational activities that promote and develop appropriate use of coping and social skills.
