Who We Are

Therapeutic Day Treatment is a program that provides a combination of therapeutic services and evaluation within the traditional school setting to students exhibiting emotional and behavioral concerns that hinder their ability to function successfully in the school environment.

Therapeutic Day Treatment provides each of these services in balance with the youth’s needs:

  • Group therapy (problem-solving, anger management, impulse control, etc.);
  • Case coordination and collaboration with families, schools and community partners;
  • Prosocial skills development to enhance social and interpersonal skills;
  • Medication education and management;
  • Individual and family psychotherapy;
  • Daily behavior modification;
  • Crisis treatment;
  • Direct time spent in the classroom with the child.

Family Preservation Services (FPS) also offers a Therapeutic Day Treatment Summer Program devoted to maintaining, sustaining and increasing the prosocial skills learned by students during the school year. The continued mental health needs of these students are addressed through recreation, art, music and drama. Community outings are provided as clinically necessary to enhance individual treatment.
