Energy Retrofit

Albemarle Housing Improvement Program (AHIP) offers an Energy Retrofit program in partnership with the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP). This program improves the efficiency and health of homes, helps homeowners lower operating costs associated with heating and cooling and reduces the residential energy footprint of local community.  Tasks include: 

•     insulating attics and insulating and conditioning crawlspaces
•     air-sealing
•     duct-wrapping
•     replacing outdated, oil- or wood-based heating options with high-efficiency heat pumps
•     installing high-efficiency windows and doors
•     installing ENERGY STAR-rated appliances
